You may have heard the phrase "preventative Botox." It's often misunderstood — as if there were a right age to start, or as if Botox could stop time. Here's how we think about it at Essenza.
Dynamic lines vs. static lines
Expression lines start as dynamic lines: they appear when you frown, squint or raise your brows, and disappear when your face relaxes. Over the years, repeated movement can etch some of them into static lines that stay visible at rest. Botox relaxes specific muscles, which softens dynamic lines and can reduce how strongly those creases are reinforced over time.
It's not about age
There's no birthday that makes Botox "necessary." What matters is how strongly certain muscles move, the quality of your skin, your lifestyle and, most of all, how you feel. Some people in their late twenties have deep frown lines; others in their forties barely do. That's why we assess, rather than recommend by age.
The most natural results come from small, well-timed treatments — not from waiting until there's something to "fix."
Lighter, more consistent care
A prevention-focused plan often uses conservative doses on a steady rhythm. Results commonly last around three to four months, and we'll talk about a maintenance schedule that fits your goals and budget. Botox at Essenza starts at $11 per unit.
What Botox can't do
Botox relaxes muscles — it doesn't improve skin texture, pores, pigmentation or firmness. For that, we look at skin-focused treatments such as microneedling, chemical peels and skin boosters, along with the basics that matter more than any injectable: daily sunscreen, good skincare and sleep.
And if you stop?
If you decide to stop, muscle movement gradually returns to how it was before. You won't "age faster" because you had Botox — your face simply returns to its natural baseline.
Questions we hear often
What age should I start Botox?
There isn't a right age. We look at your muscle activity, skin quality and goals rather than your birth year.
Do I need Botox every three months forever?
No. Many clients follow a rhythm of roughly three to four months, but it's always your choice, and we'll adjust the plan as your goals change.
Does stopping Botox make wrinkles worse?
No. When Botox wears off, muscle activity returns to your natural baseline.
